Polaris provides full lifecycle

Lights Out model (complete offshoring), Onsite
model, Hybrid model (combination of onsite and

IM toolkit is an integrated suite
of products and software services such as job
scheduler, system monitoring and RARE for providing
“mainframe-like” enterprise-wide controls
for distributed UNIX / NT / Linux Environment.
Polaris has developed its own set of tools in
addition to the 3rd party data center management
tools.
SYSMON is used for real time monitoring
of Unix, Linux and Windows server resources like
CPU, disk space, memory, event log files, platform
specific services etc and Oracle, SQL, Sybase
database server resources like database availability,
performance, event logs, active users and transaction
rates.

PERT is multi platform product used
to schedule and execute jobs in various flavors
of UNIX and Windows. At one of our customer sites
it executes more than 30000 (more than 1000 concurrent)
jobs in a day.

- Server is designed to interact with various
agents, so the load is distributed across servers
and therefore gives good performance
- Can execute jobs automatically at predefined
time without user intervention
- The product is capable of raising alerts
and has a simple but robust reporting scheme
for sensitive activities (abort, killing of
a job and restart of a job)
RARE is user identification and dual password
authentication mechanism. It helps in logging
of sensitive information, accountability and remote
control and termination of user session.
